Detectives investigating a serious sexual assault in Tameside have released footage of a man they want to speak to.
It comes after police were called to reports that a woman in her 30s had been attacked on Raynham Street in Ashton-under-Lyne.
Officers were called at around 3.45am on Monday 28 December 2020.
The victim is being supported by specially trained officers and is said to be ‘distressed’ following the ‘frightening’ attack.
An investigation was launched by detectives following the attack last year. They are now appealing to members of the public for information.
They have released a short CCTV clip in the hope that someone may recognise the man featured.
The footage shows a male wearing a hooded jumper walking down the street with a female at around 3.30am that morning.https://www.inyourarea.co.uk/widgets/established/coronaVirus?fixedheight&webreachnews&theme=manchestereveningnews

“An investigation was immediately launched and after following a number of lines of enquiry, we’re now appealing to members of the public to come forward if they recognise the man featured in the CCTV footage
“Specialist officers are continuing to support the woman.
“Anyone with information or anyone who recognises the man is asked to call 0161 856 9353, quoting log number 362 of 28/12/2020.
