A gang of three masked thugs burst into the home of a family of eight and yelled ‘Where’s the money’ as they held knives to the throats of the terrified household.
Traumatised mother Zara Downes, 21, has spoken of her terror at the way the gang forced their way in and threatened her own mother.
The violent raiders duped the family by pretending to be a delivery driver before forcing them to the floor with blades to their throats at 7bpm on Friday.
Zara, from West Bromwich, watched in horror as the raiders held a knife to her mother, who was holding Zara’s six-week-old child during the three-minute ordeal.
‘It was terrifying,’ Zara said. Armed thugs burst into a family home before fleeing empty-handedLoaded:

‘One of the men pretended to be a delivery driver so we would open the door – my dad even joked that he thought it was a pizza delivery driver.
‘But before we knew it three masked-men had burst through the front door and had pushed us onto the ground and stuck a knife against all of our throats.
‘They even pointed a knife at my mum who was holding my six-week-old baby – it was horrific.
‘We were forced to lie flat on the floor and was told if we looked up we would be stabbed but I kept trying to get up as I wanted to get to my children.’
As the family were held hostage in the evening raid, some of the gang members tore through the home searching for cash.
Zara added: ‘They kept shouting “Where is the cash, where is the cash?” but we didn’t have any.
‘They even ran upstairs and threatened my brother with their blades – despite not being able to find anything.
‘The ordeal must have lasted around three minutes but it felt like an eternity.’
The violent gang were forced to flee empty-handed after the botched raid, which has since been reported to the police.
One of the raiders, who had his face uncovered, was described as having two distinctive gold teeth.
Zara told Black Country Live that the family have found the incident hard to process and said the situation has been upsetting for the young children.
West Midlands Police said they were called to a house raid with intent to rob.
