Police want to speak to the man in these CCTV images after two women were sexually assaulted on trains. Officers believe he may have information which could help with their investigation.
A teenage girl and a woman in her 20s were assaulted on separate trains in the same evening and officers believe the attacks are linked. A woman in her 20s was traveling on the 5.53pm train from Shrewsbury to Manchester Piccadilly when a man sat down next to her and engaged her in conversation. He then sexually assaulted her.
The victim reported the incident, which happened at about 6pm on the Arriva Trains Wales service, to rail staff.
Three hours later at about 9pm, a teenage girl was sexually assaulted on the 8.10pm Manchester Piccadilly to Scarborough Transpennine Express service.
Again, a man sat next to her and engaged her in conversation before assaulting her.
The victim got off the train and went home to tell her parents, who called the police.
An appeal on the BTP website said: “Officers would like to speak to the man shown in the CCTV images as he may have information which could help the investigation.”
Anyone who recognises him is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 335 of November 20.
